Those excluded are said to have gone to <em>Gehanna <\/em>instead of <em>Sheol<\/em>. Included in this group are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those whom Jehovah judges to have been <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/1102005137#h=29\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/1102005137#h=29\" target=\"_blank\">wicked and unwilling to change<\/a>. These include Adam, Eve, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2005323#h=22\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2005323#h=22\" target=\"_blank\">Cain<\/a>, and Judas. (Though the Watchtower used to teach that Adam and Eve would be resurrected. See <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/ia600902.us.archive.org\/5\/items\/WatchtowerLibrary\/books\/1928_rec_E.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/ia600902.us.archive.org\/5\/items\/WatchtowerLibrary\/books\/1928_rec_E.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Reconciliation<\/em>&nbsp;(1928)<\/a> pp.<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/AdamEveResurrected_Reconcilliation_1928_323_324.png\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/AdamEveResurrected_Reconcilliation_1928_323_324.png\" target=\"_blank\">323, 324<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2005528#h=4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2005528#h=4\" target=\"_blank\">Those whom Jehovah exterminated<\/a>, such as Noah&#8217;s contemporaries and the people who lived in the cities of Sodom or Gomorrah (though the Watchtower has <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/101974725#h=17\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/101974725#h=17\" target=\"_blank\">changed its mind<\/a> about this several times). Doubtless this will also include those who will be killed at Armageddon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, the Watchtower has taught that resurrected ones will not be permitted to marry, or to reunite with their spouse as a married couple. In 2014, however, this understanding was revised to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2014608#h=4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wol.jw.org\/en\/wol\/d\/r1\/lp-e\/2014608#h=4\">we don&#8217;t know<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Thought About the Teaching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A question arises in my mind regarding the resurrected individual: <br><em><strong>Is this the same person who died?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since we have no way to test this, the best we can do is to engage in some thought experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if it were possible to inject your memories (and whatever we might mean by &#8220;personality&#8221;) into a computer, android, or living clone? Would it be <em>you<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/animatronicLincoln.jpg?resize=156%2C233&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12\" width=\"156\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/animatronicLincoln.jpg?w=427&amp;ssl=1 427w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/animatronicLincoln.jpg?resize=200%2C300&amp;ssl=1 200w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/animatronicLincoln.jpg?resize=267%2C400&amp;ssl=1 267w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 156px) 100vw, 156px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In <em>Disneyland <\/em>men have created an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WeMRx0Tz8OQ\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WeMRx0Tz8OQ\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;animatronic&#8221; of Abraham Lincoln<\/a>. You can watch &#8220;him&#8221; move around, gesture, and recite Lincoln&#8217;s speeches. It looks and sounds very much like the real thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this marvelous creation though, I don&#8217;t think anyone would point to it as evidence that Abraham Lincoln literally <em>lives<\/em>. Lincoln is still very much dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blade_Runner\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blade_Runner\" target=\"_blank\">Blade Runner<\/a><\/em> was a great sci-fi movie from 1982. In the film, the character of &nbsp;Rachael is of interest. She is a human-like robot injected with the memories of her creator&#8217;s niece, causing her to believe she <em>is<\/em> his niece, and that the memories are <em>hers<\/em>. However, the real niece (of course) does not believe that the robot is in fact herself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a lighter note, the 1996 comedy <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Multiplicity_(film)\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Multiplicity_(film)\" target=\"_blank\">Multiplicity <\/a><\/em> can aid our thought-experiment when it comes to clones. In this film, the main character (Doug) has himself cloned. The clone (dubbed \u201c<em>Two<\/em>\u201d) turns out to be an exact adult replica of Doug. <em>Two <\/em>has all the memories of Doug, and initially assumes that <em>Doug <\/em>is the clone! Naturally; <em>Two <\/em>thinks that he himself is Doug; he possesses all of Doug&#8217;s memories and personality. However, there is no doubt in Doug\u2019s mind that <em>Two<\/em> is <strong>not <\/strong>him.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=424%2C251&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13\" width=\"424\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=1024%2C606&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=300%2C178&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=768%2C454&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=982%2C581&amp;ssl=1 982w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?resize=400%2C237&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.watchtowerhelp.club\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Dali.jpg?w=1357&amp;ssl=1 1357w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 424px) 100vw, 424px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Dali Lives!<\/em> On an AI interactive screen <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>At the <em>Salvador Dali Museum<\/em> in St. Petersburg, Florida, they have used artificial intelligence and an interactive screen to &#8220;bring to life&#8221; the deceased artist in a presentation called <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BIDaxl4xqJ4\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BIDaxl4xqJ4\" target=\"_blank\">Dali Lives<\/a>! Visitors to the museum can experience what it would have been like to talk directly with Dali when he was still alive, and can even have their picture taken with him! But all of this cutting-edge technology does <em>Dali <\/em>just as much good as the <em>Disneyland <\/em>animatronic does for Lincoln: <em>zilch<\/em>. Both men are still very much dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For our final thought-experiment, please consider this. What if Jehovah were to create a new body right now, in front of your eyes, and place your memories and personality into it. You stand there looking at it. Do you think it is <em>you<\/em>? Or are you the one looking at this new body? What if you were to now suddenly die. Does the new body now somehow magically  become you? Or are <em>you<\/em> dead?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Injecting your memories and personality into a newly created being in the New Order, seemingly will not do anything for <em>you<\/em>. It will be just like \u201c<em>Two<\/em>\u201d in&nbsp;<em>Multiplicity<\/em>&nbsp;and just like the android in&nbsp;<em>Blade Runner<\/em>. Oh yes, this new being on this new earth will <em>think <\/em>that they\u2019re you. But is that any consolation? Can you take comfort in knowing that you will have a surrogate sincerely posing as you for eternity?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not&nbsp;<em>you<\/em>&nbsp;that will be resurrected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You<\/em>&nbsp;will still be dead.
